I went to the Appalachia mission trip expecting back-breaking physical labor, and came back with a lot of new friends instead. The guys and girls at LMU were so friendly -- and beasts at ping-pong. I lie to you not, everyone played table tennis like is was going out of style. Literally, 24/7, when we weren't putting on VBS at Upper Beech Fork Baptist Church
The whole experience was absolutely amazing; the kids were great, and very enthusiastic about singing worship songs and participating in crafts/devotion. They were so cute, too -- we asked some of the members, "What's a Beech Fork?" Their response was, "What's a New Perth?" Touché.
I wish I had videos of the skits to show you guys; some of them made me laugh so hard I nearly vomited. Rob and Tyler are a lot funnier (and nicer) than I had originally thought. Well, Tyler, anyway. And [not to harp on this] Billy was very collected throughout the whole trip, even though being paired with him to lead the 3rd-5th grade kids was pretty awkward at first. It was strange for me, being in such close contact with him for the first time in nearly a year, but we settled in and, even though I know that we will probably never be good friends again, we cooperated very well. I still miss his friendship, but I wish him the very best, and the most happiness. He really deserves it.
Also, I saw Charlie from Coddle Creek! I completely forgot about him -- his face and everything -- but he recognized me immediately. And James D. {POMPEII!} and Sarah invited me to Warped Tour, but I doubt I'll go. I want to see Anberlin, and The Devil Wears Prada (and maybe Norma Jean?), but there isn't any room for one more event this summer. Besides, I'd need to go buy a whole new outfit (I know, I know...), and it might get ripped by the crazies. Maybe next year.
Long entry, I know! Sorry! I just had to get it all out. It was a really good week, overall. Like I said, the kids were quite responsive -- one of the older ones was "agnostic," which, personally, aggravates me because 1)it is just a trend, these days, not a real mindset, and 2)even if you really do believe it, it's very illogical, because you can't refuse to deny or accept Christ. You must choose one or the other -- even if you verbally declare yourself neutral, you know which side you stand on in your heart. But I think, with him [Trent], the kindness and love that we showed him this week really helped him see how great God is, and hopefully he will come to know Him better, and grow in His great love.
Well, peace and chicken grease, kids. I gotta go sleep.

Though it's only 7 days old and counting, and still undergoing construction, it looks like it's going to be pretty nice. The people are great, and the creators are totally open to ideas from the already registered users on how to make the site better. So far it's just the basics, but we're hoping to add a more "Model Mayhem/ Deviant Art" like profile and a few inspiration features to the designs, alonmg with in-site messaging, an interactive forum, and a few other great things. One step at a time though, so it's still in basics. But join now and you can meet some great people and help make the site better
